1. Take out the Blackberry from water as soon as you can. If it stays in water for too long, the damage may be irreparable. So, act quickly and take it out as soon as you can. Then switch it off because if its power is turned on, then it might actually get fried due to short circuit.
2. Place it on a soft cloth and start dismantling it. You should remove its back cover and battery. Then take out the SIM card as soon as you can. All of your contacts and other necessary things are in that SIM card. If it is wet, then dry it with a soft cloth. However, some casings of Blackberry won’t budge at all. If that happen then do not use excess force to remove it.
3. If you were able dismantle it, then place it on warm place like on top of the television or computer. It might take 3-5 days for the phone to get dried. After that reassemble the Blackberry and turn it on to see if works or not.
4. If you were not able to remove its casing, then place in it a bowl full of uncooked rice. The uncooked rice will absorb all the moisture. After placing it overnight, take it out and turn it on to see if it works or not.
5. You can also use hair dryer to dry the Blackberry. Dismantle the phone and use the hair dryer on it. Make sure that you select the medium setting and then use it on your Blackberry for about 30 minutes. Then reassemble it and turn it on to see if it’s working or not.
If you act quickly and carefully you can save your water damaged Blackberry. Even after following these steps, if your phone doesn’t start, then it’s time to pay a visit to mobile doctor.
