After updating your Mac to the new macOS, when you run some old applications, you may receive some error messages "*** app will damage your computer.". Because these older apps are incompatible and are not able to run in your new Mac operation system. How can we find all Mac applications that are not compatible with the current macOS? We can update these applications or uninstall these applications to avoid this error message.
All mac apps come from AppStore and identified developers outside of the AppStore. But in macOS Catalina and later, macOS can’t support any 32 bit application, and if mac developers continue to update their products, they should rebuild their applications to 64-bit. Some old apps are no longer compatible that there will be a line crossing it out with broken icon in your application folder. The following steps are how to find all 32 bit applications on your Mac.
Download and install PowerSuite application your Mac, it’s a third-party disk utility application, it’s “App Uninstaller” feature can find all 32 bit applications on the Mac for free. Run the demo version of PowerSuite and click App Uninstaller to scan all applications, and then sort all applications by “From 32 bit to 64 bit” option.
When you find all 32 bit applications on your Mac, you can contact the product developer to download and install a new update package. If this application has been abandoned by the developer, you can uninstall it and find other similar applications to replace it.
How to uninstall it completely from Mac? If the old application downloaded and installed from AppStore, run Launchpad from the Dock, press and hold the Option key, then click and hold any app until the app jiggle, and click the close to the app that you want to delete and install, and click Delete to confirm.
If the old application is downloaded and installed outside of AppStore, you can use PowerSuite - App Uninstaller feature to find application and its related document data. Select them and click the Remove button to uninstall.
