For the purpose of easy and instant communication, emails have become very important avenues to reach out to others, either for business, private or public purposes. They have become so vital that opening accounts on some social media platforms require the use of an active email account. Their use has also gone beyond communication to saving important information like contacts and the likes.
However, for one reason or the other, you may need to delete such account(s). With other devices, this is pretty basic. With an iPhone, the case is different. Its not easy to delete an email account on your iPhone without losing your contact information. This is mostly a concern for many iPhone users, and the reason is simple. Every contact saved on an iPhone is automatically saved on an Exchange account. It means that if an email account is deleted, the contacts saved in such account will go with it. This is not the case with an Android device because you have the option of saving a contact on your phone, your sim card or in your email account.
Not to worry! There are options available to an iPhone user that help prevent the loss of valuable contacts if you delete an email account, either deliberately or accidentally. The first option is to back up the contacts and other vital information in the accounts before deleting.
There are several backup apps can download. One good app for backup is the Fireebok iPhone Cleaner. This app works similarly to Super Backup on an iPhone device.
Download the app and Install on your computer. And Connect your iPhone with the computer
- iPhone Cleaner
Transfer iPhone all data, Clean up disk space, remove junk files and enhance the performance of your iPhone,
iPad or iPod touch.
For Windows & Mac OS X
After that, launch it. Select "One-Click-Copy" functions to back up contacts.
The app employs vcf file to back up the contacts and you have the option of saving the backed up files either in your email account (make sure it is not the one you want to delete) or saving it on the device itself. After deleting the email account, all you have to do is click the saved backed up the file in your phone or import it from the other email account.
Another option is to have an Exchange ActiveSync account on your device. With this, you can seamlessly sync your contacts and other vital information with your iOS device. Follow these four steps as provided by the Apple Support team:
1. Add your exchange account by going to settings; click mail > add account > Exchange
2. Supply your personal information like email address and password. You may also enter an account description below the password.
3. Connect to the Exchange Server. Your iOS will try to find your Exchange Server. You might have to enter additional server information but if you need help, contact your Exchange Server, the administrator.
4. Finally, sync your contacts and others. When you are finished, click Save.' This Exchange ActiveSync means that if you delete your email account for whatsoever reason, your contacts are already synced to your device, and you can easily access them any time any day. So, if you seem to be getting so many unsolicited messages in your email account and the only solution is to get rid of it, you have the options. Go ahead. Delete the account without getting worried over losing lifelong contacts.
