Sometimes our iPhone doesn't have Wi-Fi. When we use cellular data with iCloud to back up WhatsApp data, although the iPhone has enough cellular data available, the WhatsApp chat backup feature shows that it is waiting for a Wi-Fi connection ... It seems that we can’t make a WhatsApp iCloud backup without WiFi. But in some cases, we need to back up the important WhatsApp data we received, even if our iPhone does not have a wifi connection. Is there any choice to backup WhatsApp data under this situation?

1. Use iTunes to backup

When we can't store WhatsApp data to the iCloud server, you can still back them up to your local computer. Use iTunes for iPhone backup, which backs up all iPhone data (including WhatsApp data) to your computer. Connect your iPhone with a computer which has installed iTunes, then open iTunes application, click the iPhone icon to access Summary tab and choose This computer -> (don’t Encrypted iPhone backup) -> click the Back Up Now button.

When you back iPhone data with iTunes, all backup data will be encrypted on the computer. You can’t view WhatsApp chat messages, media files and more in the iTunes backup until you restore them back to the iPhone device in the next time.

2. Use WhatsApp Pocket

WhatsApp Pocket is a WhatsApp backup, extract and recovery application for iPhone. It can download all WhatsApp chat messages, WhatsApp contacts, media files, document, call logs and more from an iPhone, iTunes and iCloud backup. You can save all WhatsApp chat messages to the html file, save WhatsApp contacts as the vcf file, save WhatsApp media files and document to the appropriate file format.

a). Download and install WhatsApp Pocket on a computer which has installed iTunes

b). Run WhatsApp Pocket, click your iPhone icon and then click WhatsApp Chat to scan

c). Select the WhatsApp chat message or message attachment, contacts, log files and more to save.
