If we turn on display photo location option on Instagram and other social applications, when we post a photo, it will read the iPhone current location or read GPS location from the selected photo. It seems that the selected photos contains the GPS location information. If the photo contains some sensitive location information, how do we delete this GPS information, or how do we replace the GPS location of the photo with another GPS location, and what should we do?

Photo metadata records all details about a digital photo, and once we turn on Location Service for Photos in iPhone or other camera and then take photo, GPS location information will be part of photo exif in photo metadata. When we change and remove the GPS location in the photo metadata, it will work. Here we will delete and replace iPhone photo location information on a Mac.

1. Download and install Photo Exifer on the Mac

2. Connect your iPhone with the computer by the USB cable. Run Photo Exifer and click Camera Photo tab.

3. Click the Open Device button, it will read your iPhone photos. Then select photos and click the Import Photo to Edit button.

4. Then the selected photos will be imported into Photo Exifer. Click the Quick Action button and choose the Remove GPS info option, it will delete the photo location information.

5. If you need to change the current location to another, Click the Quick Action button and choose the Edit GPS info option. Then enter the altitude, latitude and longitude of the new gps location, and click the Save changes button. (If you don't know the gps location of new location, you can get the altitude, latitude and longitude data from Google map or other place. Such as https://www.gps-coordinates.net/ )
