The iPhone note database stored on both the local disk and iCloud, and it is safe to use normally. However, after the iOS system is upgraded or the iPhone device is restored, all iPhone notes are empty, the Notes application may be abnormal or the Notes database cannot be read. Method 1: Recover or export notes from the iCloud
If you have turned on iCloud notes on your iPhone, all your notes will sync to iCloud and other iOS devices with the same Apple ID. If other iOS devices make changes or delete notes in the Notes application, it will sync to your iPhone. Go to www.icloud.com, and login with your Apple ID and password, access the Notes and find the notes folder and Recently Deleted folder, and then download notes from iCloud.
Method 2: Recover or export Notes from the iPhone backup
If you have made an iPhone backup with iCloud or the computer, retrieving notes from the backup may be the most practical way. Before restoring the backup, we need to confirm that your backup content contains the lost iPhone notes. Here we use the third-party application Fone Rescue, it can read and export all iPhone data from the backup. Download and install Fone Rescue here:
Run Fone Rescue application, and select the “Recover From iTunes Backup” option, if you’re using macOS 10.14 and later, you need to add Full Disk Access list (Go to System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Full Disk Access)
Click Note & Others tab -> Note in the result view, it will display all iPhone notes, and you can select them and click the “Export the selected Notes” button to save them.
Method 3: Recover or export Notes from the iPhone database
If you don’t have any iPhone backup, Fone Rescue provides an option to scan the iPhone device and get lost notes from the iPhone database. Please connect your iPhone device with the computer, and then run Fone Rescue. Click the Start Scan button in the Recover From iOS Device tab.
Click Note & Others tab -> Note in the result view, it will list lost notes and exist iPhone notes, or click Hex Preview mode to search the deleted notes fragments and you can select them and click the “Export the selected Notes” button to save them.
