Children under 13 cannot create an Apple account on their own. To address this, Apple provides a feature that allows parents to create child accounts with age-based parental controls. However, some iPhone users have reported that when they try to access Family Sharing to manage their child's account, the screen freezes, preventing them from making any changes.

If you're experiencing this issue after updating to iOS 18.3 or later, follow these steps to resolve it.

1. Restart Your iPhone

Restarting your iPhone can help resolve cache-related issues and minor system glitches. To restart your device:

• Go to Settings -> General -> Shut Down, then drag the slider to turn off your iPhone.

• To turn it back on, press and hold the Side button (or Sleep/Wake button, depending on your model) until the Apple logo appears.

2. Adjust Screen Time Settings

Once you've set up Family Sharing and created a Child Account, Screen Time is automatically enabled for that account. Screen Time helps manage iPhone usage by setting content restrictions and app limits.

To modify Screen Time settings and prevent screen freezing:

• Go to Settings -> Screen Time -> Family.

• Select the child’s account and adjust the Content & Privacy Restrictions or App Limits as needed.

3. Reset the Child’s iPhone Settings

Incorrect network settings or system preferences may interfere with Family Management. Resetting the child’s iPhone settings can help resolve the issue:

• Go to Settings -> General -> Transfer or Reset iPhone -> Reset.

• Tap Reset All Settings (this won’t delete personal data but will reset system settings).

4. Update to the Latest iOS Version

Apple may have already fixed this issue in a newer iOS update. Check for updates and install the latest version:

• Go to Settings -> General -> Software Update.

• If an update is available, tap Download and Install to update your device.
