Some iPhone users reported that Safari couldn’t play any online video content after upgrading to iOS 13.4. There is no video playback, it just shows the video screen as a black screen but the audio. Or when you make a call and answer a call, Safari video playback will also stop working and it will also become a black screen. We can change to use the video application for playback without any problem, but it can not cover all situations, if your iPhone has the same issue, here are 6 solutions on how to solve it.

1. Force quit Safari

For an iPhone 8 or earlier, double-click the Home button to show your most recently used apps. For an iPhone X or later, or an iPad with iOS 12 or later, or iPadOS, from the Home screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause slightly in the middle of the screen.

Swipe right or left to find the Safari app, Swipe up Safari to quit it.

2. Restart your iPhone

3. Check the network connection or change to a stable wifi network

Change the cellular data to a stable Wifi network to load the website video.

4. Reset your iPhone setting

Go to iPhone Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings

5. Refresh HDR Media Capabilities and Media Capabilities Extensions

Go to iPhone Settings -> Safari -> Advanced -> Experimental Features -> scroll down and find the HDR Media Capabilities and Media Capabilities Extensions options, turn them off, then turn on again.

6. Clear Safari Website Data

Go to iPhone Settings -> Safari -> Tap Clear History and Website Data, then tap Clear history and Data to confirm.
