How to fix when you can’t hear the call or voicemail on iPhone?

Checking iPhone Volume and Receiver

Increase the volume

While you're on a call, increase the volume with the volume buttons. Ensure that you can see the volume signal on the screen when you press the volume control keys.

Check the connections

If the iPhone is connected to a headset, you may not be able to hear through the iPhone device or using the speakerphone.

Follow these steps, tests after each one by one.

Ensure that you don't have anything plugged into the headphone jack port or the dock connection.

Head to Settings > Bluetooth and switch off Bluetooth.

Clear the receiver

The iPhone receiver will not work properly if it's blocked or dusty or dirty.

Follow these steps, testing after each one:

Make sure there is nothing blocking the device receiver, like a film or circumstance.

When you have a fresh iPhone, take away the plastic film on the front and rear of the device.

Check the receiver opening to see if it's blocked or dusty. If necessary, clean the receiver opening with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush.

While you're on a call, turn on speakerphone. If you still can't hear, in that case your network or reception may be the issue. Try calling again later or from a different location to ascertain it is a network issue.

Check the receiver

Follow these steps to see if the problem is with your receiver or your network:

Open the Voice Memos iPhone app and record a brief sound clip.

Click the upper-right area of your display to change playback between the speaker and receiver.

Click to try to play the voice memo through the device receiver on your iPhone.

Switch to a different language environment

Restart and update new iOS version

You may have to restart your iPhone and test again.
