Some Apple Watch users reported that they accidentally deleted voice memos on Apple Watch, but they can't find a recently deleted folder in the Apple Watch Voice Memos application. Is there any way to retrieve or recover the deleted Apple Watch voice memos?
While we can't find or retrieve deleted voice memos directly on Apple Watch, voice recordings recorded on Apple Watch automatically sync to iPhones, iPads, and other iOS and Mac devices that you sign in to with the same Apple ID. This gives us some ideas to find some workarounds to retrieve or recover deleted Apple Watch voice memos.
1. Retrieve voice memos from iPhone Voice Memo app
Open Voice Memos application on your iPhone, tap the Recently Deleted folder, then tap the recording you want to recover. Or tap Edit above the Recently Deleted list, then tap Recover All to recover everything in the Recently Deleted folder. The deleted voice memos will be moved to the Recently Deleted folder for 30 days.
2. Recover voice memos from iPhone device
If you can’t find voice memos in iPhone Voice Memo app, have a try to use 3rd-party application to recover and voice memos from iPhone device directly. Because your Apple Watch is backed up automatically to your paired iPhone, you don't need to do anything to keep your watch backed up. Download and install Fone Rescue application on your computer, connect your iPhone with the computer via a USB cable.
Run Fone Rescue application, select "Recover from iOS Device” mode, you will find your iPhone information and click the “Start Scan" button to scan the iPhone.
After scanning, click the Voice Memos tab under "Notes & Others" section, it will display all scanned voice memos, select them to recover.
3. Recover voice memos from iPhone backup
When you back up your iPhone, the Apple Watch backup is backed up to iCloud or Mac. So you can recover Apple Watch voice memos to the iPhone backup. Run Fone Rescue application, and select “Recover From iTunes Backup” tab, select an iPhone backup and click the Start Scan button to scan.
After scanning, click the “Note & Others” section to access the Voice Memos tab, click the voice memos to play, and then select the deleted voice memos to recover.
