Have you ever experienced iPhone lost photos due to unknown reasons? Even if the iPhone device has enough space, there is no manual deletion of photos and hidden photos. Hundreds of photos have been randomly lost in the recent period of time. Why are those iPhone photos lost from the device? How to get them back to iPhone? This article will show you how to retrieve these lost photos from the photo stream and iCloud photo.
If you turned on photo stream on your iPhone(iPhone Settings -> Photos -> My Photo Stream), My Photo Stream uploads your most recent photos (except Live Photos) so that you can view and import them to all of your devices. Photos are stored in My Photo Stream for 30 days. iCloud Photos uploads all of your photos and videos to iCloud and keeps them up to date across your devices.
But iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch only keeps your most recent 1000 photos in the My Photo Stream album for 30 days. After that the photos will be removed from iCloud. That’s why your iPhone photos are removed.
How to retrieve those photos?
When photos been deleted from My Photo Stream on one device, the photos will be removed from Photos and iCloud. The photos that you import from My Photo Stream to your other devices won’t be deleted. It means that if you have another device(iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Mac ) with the same Apple ID that has My Photo Stream turned on, you can find those missing photos there. Open your Mac Photos application -> Albums -> My Photo Stream.
How to avoid photos removing from My Photo Stream?
On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, open Photos and tap Albums -> My Photo Stream -> Select, Tap the photos that you want to save, then tap Share icon -> Save Image.
How to retrieve iPhone photos from iCloud?
After all, the number of photos stored in My Photo Stream is limited, if the missing photos are not found in My Photo Stream and you have turned on iCloud Photos, view and retrieve them from iCloud photos. iCloud Photos uploads all of your photos and videos to iCloud and keeps them up to date across your devices. Open www.icloud.com with your iCloud account and password, click Photos to view and download all iCloud Photos.
