After upgrading to iOS 14, some iPhone users can't find any notes when they access the Notes app on their iPhone. Tap the search bar and type the keyword or the title of a note, some notes are in the search result, some notes are not in the search result. but they can’t access the search result note in notes. How to retrieve these missing notes from the iPhone device?
1. Turn on third-party accounts
If your iPhone use some third-party accounts and email service, go to iPhone Settings -> Mail -> Accounts, tap the email account that you want to check, and turn on Notes. If you use Notes with more than one email account, just repeat the steps for each account.
2. Check the Recently Deleted folder
Deleted notes are not immediately removed from your iPhone, they are moved to the Recently Deleted folder, where they are stored for 30 days before they are permanently deleted. Tap the backup button at the left top until you see the Folder list, and tap Recently Deleted folder to access and search the missing notes.
3. Recover from iCloud Server
If you turn on note on iCloud Drive, you can recover deleted iCloud notes in the last 30 days from the iCloud server. Visit www.iCloud.com and login with your AppleID and password, access the Notes and find the lost notes in Notes folder and Recently Deleted folder.
4. Restore from an iTunes or iCloud backup
If you have made an old backup before, you can restore lost notes from the iTunes and iCloud backup. Tips: when you choose to restore the backup, all current data on your iPhone will be replaced with the backup data. If you don't want to lose some un backed up data, such as photos and messages, you can use the third-party application - Fone Rescue, to export notes from backups without losing any data.
Download and install Fone Rescue on the computer, run Fone Rescue, and then select “Recover From iTunes Backup” or “Recover From iCloud Backup”, choose a backup in the list view and click the Start Scan button.
When the scan is completed, click Notes& Others -> Note to view all note content in the backup, and select what you need and click “Export the selected Notes” button to save.
5. Recover From iPhone Device
If you don’t have any iPhone backup, you still have a chance to recover lost notes from the iPhone database. Download and install Fone Rescue on the computer, which has installed iTunes. Connect your iPhone device with the computer via a USB cable.
Run Fone Rescue, and then select “Recover From iOS Device” and click the Start Scan button.
Please wait for a while to scan the iPhone device, once the scan is complete, click Notes& Others -> Note to view all note content in the backup, select notes and click “Export the selected Notes” button to save.
