After updating to iOS 13, many iPhone users reported that when they open a message conversation and tap i to view the message attachment, but their message photos attachment disappeared, including all sent and received photo and video message attachments. They downloaded and stored some message photo attachments to the photo album, but some of attachments they didn't. At the moment we don't know what caused this problem and whether the iPhone has removed these photo attachments from iPhone. But we can provide some solutions to help to retrieve these missing message attachments after iOS 13 update.
When you go to iPhone Settings -> General -> iPhone storage -> Message, to check the file size of Message application. If the file size is large, it means that iPhone didn’t remove message attachment, and message didn’t display the photo message attachment in Message applications for some reason. Otherwise, iPhone has deleted message photo attachments from the iPhone device. Here are the solutions to retrieve or recover them from iPhone device and backup.
1. Retrieve or recover missing message attachments from iPhone device
Whether or not the iPhone removes those message attachments, we can use Fone Rescue to scan iPhone devices directly to recover them. If you don’t have any backup, to recover some important attachments, it will be good choice.
A). First we download and install Fireebok Fone Rescue on a computer which installed iTunes.
B). Connect your iPhone device with the computer with a USB cable, and run Fone Rescue. then click Start Scan button.
C). After the scan has completed, click Contact & Messages & Call log tab and choose Message Attachment, all message photo attachments will list below. Preview and select them to save.
2. Retrieve or recover missing message attachments from iTunes or iCloud backup
Direct recovery from the iPhone device is a probabilistic event, and it needs the deleted photos can not be overwritten by other iPhone data. If you have previously made iTunes or iCloud backups, you can restore them 100%.
A). Run Fireebok Fone Rescue, choose Recover from iTunes Backup mode or Recover from iCloud Backup
B). Choose an iTunes backup or login with your Apple ID and choose an iCloud backup, and click Start Scan button.
C). After the scan has completed, click Contact & Messages & Call log tab and choose Message Attachment, all message photo attachments will list below. Preview and select them to save.
