Apple's iOS 10.2 update brings some massive changes to the iPhone. Even though a few iPhone users may want to install the iOS 10.1.2 update on their devices today, others may prefer to skip the update for a later time.
The official iOS 10.2 release includes a host of features, fixes and tweaks for the iPhone, like new emojis, the new Apple TV app, and Single-Sign On for Apple TV.
There are so many reasons to consider installing iOS 10.2 on your device today. But some users have installed iOS 10.2 feedback some problems. Let's see more detail information about whether you should update to iOS 10.2
iOS 10.2 new features
1. If You Want Better Security You may Install iOS 10.2
If you'd prefer better and improved security, you will want to earnestly consider installing the iOS 10.2 upgrade on your iPhone.
The iOS 10.2 update brings 12 known patches for potential exploits, including one where an "attacker with an unlocked device might be able to disable Find My iPhone."
These patches enhance the security on your iPhone, making them ideal for individuals who store sensitive data/data on their device. Which I think most people do.
2. If You Use Apple TV You can Install iOS 10.2
If you own and use an Apple Tv set, you might want to download the iOS 10.2 update today.
Needlessly to say, Apple's iOS 10.2 update includes the long-awaited Single Sign-On feature for an Apple Television set and iOS devices.
Right now, it's limited to CenturyLink Prism, Dish, GTA, Hawaiian Telecom, Hotwire, MetroCast, Sling TV, and DirecTV. If you don't see your favorite provider listed here, this is another reason to update to iOS 10.2.
3. If You Watch lots of Content on Your iPhone then You can install iOS 10.2 today.
If you watch a lot of content (films, tv) on your iPhone, 10 iOS.2 is most likely worth a peek due to the new TV application on board.
The new TV application provides you with a single spot to access your preferred TV shows and movies. The update also provides some new and useful upgrades for Siri.
4. You can update to iOS 10.2 if you have issues with the previous versions.
If you're dealing with a bug or performance issue on iOS 9 or an older version of iOS 10, it will be better to install iOS 10.2 on your device.
5. Install iOS 10.2 If You Use 'Made for iPhone' Hearing Aids
Those of you using 'Made for iPhone' hearing aids probably want to install the iOS 10.2 upgrades today. This is because the iOS 10.2 update apparently brings two important bug fixes that are not stated in its prolonged change log. Both improve support for 'Made for iPhone' hearing aids.
With the iOS 10.2 update installed, pings from the Find My iPhone app will now come through the iPhone's speaker systems instead of through the hearing supports.
6. Install iOS 10.2 If You Use Emoji
The iOS 10.2 brings new emojis and redesigned emojis to the iOS keyboard. If you're a devoted emoji end user, iOS 10.2 is probably worthwhile upgraded to today.
Unicode 9 emoji are included in the last version of the iOS 10.2 upgrade. The list set of new emoji includes an avocado, a shark, a croissant, a burrito, a shark, a carrot, a squid, a clown face, and bacon. These are just a small sample about emoji in the new iOS 10.2.
Some feedback after installing iOS 10.2
1. iPhone makes a restart when I open my snapchat after updated to iOS 10.2
My iPhone 6 has a little problem since I've done the latest iOS update (10.2). Almost every time I open my snapchat, my iPhone makes a restart without me doing anything.. Maybe you can help?
It is a bug on snapchat with iOS 10.2. The Snapchat team will release an update to fix it.
2. iOS 10.2: Cannot now import photos from iPhone to iMac
Before updating to IOS 10.2, when I plugged my iPhone into my iMac via the cable, Image Capture would automatically open on the iMac if there were photos in the iPhone camera roll, ready to download them. Since updating to IOS10.2, Image Capture still opens, but it doesn't list the photos I have taken. So I can't download them.
The only way to access photos on the iPhone running iOS 10.2 is to plug it in via the USB cable, then reboot the iPhone.
3. After updating to iOS 10.2, cannot access Ring (or other security devices) live
I use devices from Ring and I could access the "liveview" feature via other people's wifi, not just my own. But I cannot access liveview via Cellular Data. It has only happened after updating to 10.2. I tried talking to Ring and they thought I had wifi assist turned on and it is not true.
If the above problem does not affect your use of iPhone, with all the good features given above about the new iOS 10.2, I think you should upgrade to the new one today. Or I recommend skipping this update iOS 10.2 until the next small version of 10.2.1 appears, and then upgrades, it will be more stable.
