Copy between Photo title and Photo file name on Mac

We usually use the photo title and photo file name to record some basic information about the photo, and we can view photo file name and photo title in Finder and Photos application. What if we need to copy the photo title to the photo file name on the Mac, or copy the photo file name to the photo title? Don't worry, this article will provide some ways to copy between the photo title and the photo file name on the Mac.

Copy Photo title to Photo file name using Photos

 

Using the Photos app is the most common and simple way to copy the photo title to the photo file name. When we export some photos from Photos application on Mac, we can use the photo title to rename exported photos. Select photos in Photos application, and go to File menu -> Export photos -> and choose the “Use Title” option in File Name selection, and then click Export. The file name of selected photos will be renamed by photo tile metadata tag.

But this solution only works when you export photos from photos, cannot be copied in the "Photos" application, and does not work for local photos that are not in the photo library. Next, we use powerful third-party application - Photo Exifer to copy between Photo title and Photo file name without the problems mentioned above.

For Local photos(photos in Finder, external hard drive or other place ) on Mac:

Run Photo Exifer.app, and import photos and photo folder into Photo Exifer, and then select them in Photo Exifer, and click Quick Action -> select the "Copy photo title to photo file name" menu item.

Run Photo Exifer.app, and import photos and photo folder into Photo Exifer, and then select them in Photo Exifer, and click Quick Action -> select the "Copy photo file name to photo title" menu item.

For Photo Library(photos in Photos application): on Mac:

Run Photo Exifer.app, and then click Photo Library tab, it will scan all photos in Photos application. After the scan is complete, select photos in Photo Exifer, and click Quick Action -> Copy photo library title to photo library file name
