When selecting a photo in the Mac Photos application and clicking the info button, various details such as Title, Caption, Keywords, and more are displayed. However, on the iPhone Photos app, tapping a photo and then the info button only reveals the caption text field and other related information. This discrepancy becomes noticeable especially for photos that have been edited and tagged with titles in the Mac Photos app, as the title information fails to appear in the iPhone Photos app. How to copy photo title to photo caption? So the caption will effectively display the title information on the iPhone.
1. Manual Method: Copying Titles to Captions One by One
To ensure that the title information is visible within the iPhone Photos app, you can manually copy the photo title data to the photo caption. Open the Photos application on your Mac, select the desired photo(s) and access the photo information window using "Get Info”. Manually copy the title to the caption field for each photo.
2. Batch Method: Using Photo Exifer for Efficient Copy
When dealing with a large number of photos, manually copying the title to the caption for each one becomes impractical. In such cases, employing an application to automate the task is highly recommended. One such application is Photo Exifer, which conveniently supports batch operations within the Mac photo library. With Photo Exifer, you can streamline the process of copying photo titles to photo captions for hundreds or even thousands of photos in your library. Download and install Photo Exifer app on your Mac.
If you’re using macOS 10.14 and later, please add Photo Exifer application to the Full Disk Access list(System Settings/Preferences -> Privacy Security -> Full Disk Access) to get the read & write permission of photo library. Launch Photo Exifer app and click Photo Library to load all photos and videos from Apple Photos app.
Once the scan is complete, select the photos you wish to transfer titles for. Click on "Quick Action" and choose "Copy Photo Library Title to Photo Library Caption/Description”. This action will efficiently copy the title data to the caption field for the selected photos. When you reopen the Photo application, you'll notice the updated captions reflecting the copied titles. Additionally, if you have iCloud Photos enabled, these EXIF changes will seamlessly sync to your iPhone Photos app.
In addition to its capability to batch copy photo titles to captions, Photo Exifer offers a range of powerful features for managing photo libraries efficiently: sort photos, remove duplicate photos, edit other photo metadata tags in bulk and more.
