Many Mac users tried to download and install MacOS Big Sur 11.5 many times, but they were all prompted about network problems and the installation failed. But in fact, the computer network is normal, how to solve this problem and complete the macOS update?
First of all, we have to check and make sure that the computer’s local network is normal. At the same time, we need to check the status of Apple’s server(https://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus) to make sure it is not under maintenance.
Restart the computer and update from AppStore
Restart the Mac and open App Store application, search MacOS to find MacOS Big Sur in AppStore, and then tap the GET button to update macOS to the latest version. Run the installer file from the Application folder to complete the installation. It will be the latest version of MacOS Big Sur 11.5.
Update macOS in Safe mode
For an Inter-based Mac: choose Apple menu > Shut Down, Restart your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Shift key. Release the Shift key when you see the login window.
For a Mac with Apple silicon: choose Apple menu > Shut Down, Press and hold the power button on your Mac until the startup options window appears showing available startup disks and Options. Select a startup disk, press and hold the Shift key, click Continue in Safe Mode, then release the Shift key.
And then update MacOS Big Sur in the Safe mode.
Free up the Mac storage
Choose Apple menu -> About This Mac -> Storage, to check the available storage space on your computer. If the available storage space is less than 30 GB, we recommend deleting some files to free up the computer storage. Click the Manage.. button to delete some files from the Mac Documents, Application, and other place.
Or you can use PowerSuite - a third-party disk utility to delete unnecessary files with one click, such as application cache, website data, large files, duplicate files, etc.
