The macOS Catalina beta 2 version has been released, and many mac users are like me, can't wait to install it on our mac computer. In addition to there are many new features, ScreenTime, Voice Control, etc. and it make many changes, new Music, Apple TV, Podcasts, and extent computer desktop with iPad on the new macOS 10.15. Compared with the previous macOS version updates, this update has more content and more changes. Follow the detailed steps below to install the macOS 10.15 beta version on your Mac.
1. Check if your mac model can be updated to macOS Catalina
Click Apple menu -> About This Mac, to view the Mac model
MacBook: 2015 and later
iMac: 2012 and later
MacBook Air: 2012 and later
iMac Pro: 2017 and later
MacBook Pro: 2012 and later
Mac Pro: 2013 and later
Mac Mini: 2012 and later
2. Backup your computer with Time Machine
Connect an external disk with the computer, and make an Time Machine backup
3. Sign up or Log in Apple Beta Software Program
Go to https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/, Sign up or Log in with your Apple ID, then click enroll your Mac under Get Started tab.
4. Download and install the macOS Pubic Beta Access Utility
a). Click Download the macOS Pubic Beta Access Utility under Enroll your Mac tab.
b). Open the dmg file, double click the pkg file to install step by step.
c). Until the installation was successful.
5. Download macOS Catalina Beta
After the macOS Pubic Beta Access Utility has been installed, the Software Update window will pop-up, and click Upgrade Now. And wait for a while to download the whole package.
6. Install macOS Catalina Beta
After downloading macOS Catalina Beta, the macOS Catalina window will pop up. Click the Continue button.
7. Restart the computer and setup in new macOS Catalina
Please quit other applications and it will automatically restart your computer. When it starts up and waits for about half an hour to install and optimize the new macOS.
