Slow Mac startup? Or some applications and files run automatically during Mac startup, and their icons occupy the status bar at the top of the Mac for a long time. When we install a lot of applications on the Mac, we may often encounter this situation. Where can we find them on the Mac? In this article we will find and delete them from the Mac computer.
1. Find login items in Preferences
Click System Preferences icon on the dock, access Users & Groups -> Login Items, some applications which open automatically will list here. And click the “-” button to remove the application from the auto-run list.
2. Find the configuration files
Many applications will place some configuration files to a specific path to indirectly start the application. Such as the Launchd location, Launchd is the key process used to initialize the system environment under MacOS. It is the first process started in the MacOS environment after the kernel is successfully loaded. In addition, there is user agent and launchd daemon: /Users/~/Library/LaunchAgents, /Users/~/Library/StartupItems.
3. Use PowerSuite to find and delete
There may be some system files in the above path, they do not need to be deleted. If you are not good at manual deletion, we recommend using PowerSuite to find and delete those auto-run files with one click, which is a third-party disk utility application. It will find all third party auto-run file during Mac Startup.
Select an application or file, and turn off the switch button and click the apply changes button to save the changes, it will work.
