Is there any way to copy Exif data from one raw image and then paste it to another on Mac? For example, transferring Exif's data from ARW to DNG. Sometimes, when we edit the raw image (ARW, ORF or other raw image) with photo editor application, it saves and exports the raw image as DNG without exif data. We need to copy camera and lens information, exposure, white balance, shooting date and more exif data into DNG photos to preserve photo metadata.
Copying Exif data from one image to another is not easy. There are several online image tools that may offer the ability to copy an EXIF image to another image, but it is only used in the JPEG format, not the raw image format. Fortunately, Photo Exifer supports copying raw image Exif data to another raw image, which is a photo metadata editor application to edit photo metadata for local photos and photo library.
Here are the steps to copy Exif data from a ARW raw image to a DNG raw image. View the Exif data of ARW raw image from Sony SLT-A65V:

Download and install Photo Exifer application on your Mac. Run Photo Exifer application, and then import the ARW and DNG images into Photo Exifer application. And then select the RAW image in Photo Exifer application, click Export/Import button -> Export all metadata info to plist, it will save the photo metadata in a plist file in Finder.
Then select the DNG image in Photo Exifer application, click Export/Import button -> Import all metadata info to the selected item(s), and select the saved plist file in Finder to open.
Looking at the Exif data of the changed DNG raw image, the exif data from the ARM raw image has been successfully transferred to the DNG raw image.
