When we share a photo in a public internet with some social applications, which allows to share the location, it will see the location information of the sharing photo. If you’re using Photos application to manage all your photos on Mac, you can view the photo’s GPS location. But if we store photos in external hard drive or other place with other photo organization, how to find the photos’s GPS location? Or we want to change the photo’s GPS location, how to edit the GPS data of the photo on Mac?
Find the photo’s GPS location with Preview
Open the photo with Preview application, and go to Tools menu -> Show Inspector -> GPS, it will display the locations information with Latitude and Longitude, and you can click Show in Maps to view in Apple Maps application.
Find the photo’s GPS location with Photo Exifer
Another way is to use Photo Exifer to find and view the GPS location of the photo, import photos into Photo Exifer, select a photo and click Quick Action -> Display GPS properties in Maps or Edit GPS info menu item, it will display the GPS location of the photo in Photo Exifer.
Edit or remove the photo’s GPS location with Photo Exifer
If you need to change and edit the GPS data of photo, import photos into Photo Exifer, select a photo or lots of photos, click the Edit Exif data, and change the value of Latitude and Longitude, and click Apply button.
If you need to remove the GPS data of photo, click Quick Action -> choose Remove GPS info menu item.
