How to transfer Google Photos to iCloud Photos? First you need to use Google Takeout quickly download them to your computer, and then upload downloaded photos to iCloud Photos. Recently some people reported that after downloading a large number of photos from Google Photos using Takeout, the creation date or other metadata of the downloaded photos was wrong. How to fix this issue?
If you ever edited and changed photo metadata(such as photo title, description, creation date, gps location) in Google Photos, Google photos will write the edited metadata to the json file, which is different from the original photo metadata. If we can merge the photo metadata from Google Takeout json files to Photos, this problem will be resolved.
Here we recommend using the latest version of Photo Exifer, which supports batch merging of Google Takeout json files and photos, it automatically scans the subfolders under the Google Photos folder to obtain the original photo shooting time, original photo title, description, GPS latitude and longitude and write the corresponding Photo.
Download and install Photo Exifer, and then run Photo Exifer.
Click Quick Action -> and select Merge Google Takeout json files to photos menu item, open your Google Takeout folder, then it will automatically process all the photos in the Google Takeout folder.
After it’s completed, you can import the processed Google Photos to iCloud Photos or Apple Photo library.
