If the iCloud storage is larger than the iPhone storage, we usually recommend storing photos and videos in iCloud to save iPhone local storage space. But sometimes the storage space of the iPhone is full, we need to delete the photos, or we need to sell the iPhone and reset the contents of the iPhone. If the iPhone has used iCloud to store and sync photos, when we delete the photos from the iPhone device, the photos will be deleted from iCloud and other synchronized iOS and Mac devices. Is there any way to delete photos from one device but keep them on iCloud?
1. Turn off iCloud Photos before deleting
In order to avoid deleting photos in iCloud synchronously, we can disable iCloud photos on the iPhone device. Go to iPhone Settings -> Photos -> Turn off iCloud Photos
2. Transfer photos to the local computer or external disk
Another way is to transfer your photos and other iPhone data, such as contacts, messages, notes and more to the local computer or external disk. Download and install iPhone Cleaner on your computer.
Click Device Manager - Photos in iPhone Cleaner
Then click “Export All” button to save them to the computer.
Or access the One-Click-Copy feature to transfer photos and contacts, messages and other more iPhone data to the computer or external disk.
