Recently some users contacted us about any way to change the video metadata tags of 3GP/3GP2 videos? They know that there are some image metadata editors that can change the exif or iptc data of an image. But none of the programs can do the same with video files. They have many 3GP videos missing correct metadata such as title, creation date and original capture date, GPS location of the video file. They can add and edit title and GPS location in Apple Photos, but Apple Photos will ignore the file creation date when importing video files and will instead set the import date/time to the date/time it was taken.

Download and install Media Meta application on your Mac.
Run the Media Meta application and import your 3GP or 3GP2 videos into Media Meta, which supports not only 3GP format files but other video formats(MP4, MOV, MKV, MPEG, M4V) as well. And then select videos in Media Meta.
If you need to bulk edit or add video metadata tags such as title, description, copyright, artwork, creation date and shooting date, change the value of the corresponding video metadata tag text field, and click the Save Changes button.
Media Media provides the ability to quickly copy the capture date to the creation date or the creation date to the capture date. Select videos in Media Meta, click the Quick Action -> and choose the “Copy Shooting/Recording date to Creation date” menu item or “Copy Shooting/Recording date to Creation date” menu item.
