Mac provides a function to “Manage…” the startup disk on the Mac, which may help us to optimize and clean up the storage space of the startup disk on the Mac. I know that there are many duplicate files and folders in the external disk, but how to quickly find and delete them from the external disk?
We recommend using PowerSuite to find and delete duplicate files and other old, and large files from the external disk. First download and install PowerSuite on the Mac.
1. Run PowerSuite and Click Fund Duplicate Files tab, and open the external disk location, and click the Quick Scan button.
2. After the scan is complete, it will display all duplicate files on the result view.
3. You can select all files, images, documents, videos, audios and other file categories, or sort the result files by file size or file count to view different file types.
4. Then click Auto Check to automatically select all duplicate files with one-click, or you can manually select duplicate files by the file location on the right view.
5. Then Click the Remove button to delete the selected duplicate files.
If you also want to find and delete old files and large files and other unnecessary files from the external disk, you can use PowerSuite - Automatic - Custom cleanup objects.
Add the external disk location as a clean up object, and edit the clean up rules for the external disk.
