Several Mac users have reported that their ebooks have disappeared from the Book.app after updating to macOS Ventura. Some of these ebooks were purchased from the Books app, while others were downloaded from the internet in ePub or PDF formats. If you're one of these users, you may be wondering where your Books files are stored on macOS Ventura and if you can still access them.
There are two places to store Books files on macOS Ventura, depending on whether your Mac turns iCloud on or off. If iCloud doesn’t turn on your Mac, your Books files are stored in /Users/~/Library/Containers/com.apple.BKAgentService/Data/Documents/iBooks. If your Mac has iCloud turn on, they will be store in: /Users/~/Library/Mobile Documents/iCloud~com~apple~iBooks/Documents. Or you can use the third-party application - Audio Book application to view and check all book files in your Book.app, in addition to that, it can convert your eBook files to MP3 and audiobook files. Download and install Audio Book application on your Mac.
After installing Audio Book application, open Audio Book and click iBook Purchased tab, it will list all ebook files in Book.app. Select a book file, and then choose the language and the reader, listen to the voice by the “Test reading” button, then click “Convert” button to start.
By default, the audio file of the converted result is AIFF file format, but you can right-click the AIFF file, it will pop up a menu, and then select "Convert AIFF to MP3" or "Convert AIFF to M4B (Audiobook File Format)" menu item to convert the audio file to MP3 or M4B file.
