How to fix Printer driver not supported on macOS Catalina?

Many Apple users report that after upgrading their Mac to macOS Catalina, their HP, Canon, EPSOn and other printer drivers are no longer supported. 1. Check the Printer compatibility with macOS

 

a. Check if your Canon printer mode is compatible with macOS Catalina. https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/self-help-center/Mac-OSX-Compatibility

b. Check if your HP printer mode is compatible with macOS Catalina. https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05900790

c. Check if your Epson and other printer is compatible with macOS Catalina https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201465

 

2. Download and update the new printer driver

 

Many printer manufacturers have updated their drivers to support the new macOS Catalina, you can visit their website to check or contact the support team.

HP Printer Drive: HP use all-in-one printer drive for all Printers, you can download the latest 5.1 version of HP Printer Driver ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/ASU/HPPrinterDrivers5.1.dmg

And you also can find the old printer drive or Mac OS X 10.7 and 10.8 https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05900790

 

3. If your printer doesn’t have a new printer drive to support macOS Catalina

 

a. Use AirPrint to print the photos and documents without downloading or installing drivers. It supports print from your Mac, iPhone, iPad and iPod device. If you can’t print with AirPrint, here is the guide: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203343

b. Use Preview or Image Capture to scan and print your photo document. Open a photo or document, choose File -> Print.
